JV's Mexican Food is located in a very tiny strip mall off on the inner part of Morena Blvd. The food here is excellent and the prices are low. For a long time JV's Mexican Food was one of the best kept secrets among taco shops in San Diego, but over the last few years word has really gotten out about the food here. In addition to having house salsa that comes in large bottles at each table, JV's Mexican Food also has a small salsa bar. Parking is very tight, there is no drive-thru, but the menu is excellent and JV's boasts some of the most flavorful carne asada and pollo that San Diego taco shops offer. If you really enjoy Taco Shops, JV's is a must on your bucket list.

Great Local Spot
I didn't feel like getting a special, so I ordered a custom burrito with beans, rice, cheese, and fries (BRCF). The burrito was decent sized and came in under $5.00, which is always a good sign for a BRCF burrito. Everything was fresh and the fries were cooked to order. I used the house salsa to cool down the temperature of the burrito before taking a bite.
